Daisy Evans is a freelance woodwind multi-instrumentalist, educator, event administrator and social media manager based in Cardiff, Wales.
Daisy graduated in 2014 with an MA distinction in Solo Clarinet Performance from the Royal Welsh College of Music, studying with Timothy Lines, Robert Plane and John Cooper. During her studies at RWCMD, performance highlights included playing principal clarinet in all the major college orchestras, performing in side-by-side concerts with members of the BBC National Orchestra of Wales and Welsh National Opera and premiering a piece with the New London Chamber Ensemble. Her postgraduate studies were graciously supported by the EMI Sound Foundation, the Laura Ashley Fund and the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama. Before attending the RWCMD, Daisy completed her undergraduate degree in clarinet performance at the Birmingham Conservatoire. She studied with Michael Harris, Timothy Lines, Joanna Patton and Mark O’Brien. She played with all of the college ensembles and was awarded a place to study on the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra (CBSO) Orchestral Training Scheme
Daisy is a member of the award winning Bute Clarinet Quartet. The quartet are Live Music Now! artists performing in professional recitals and outreach projects around the UK. She is also a founding director and member of Harmoni Cymru. A community interest company who work with the University Hospital Wales , Cardiff, providing live music on the wards.
As a multi-instrumentalist, Daisy is able to play clarinets, saxophones, flutes and oboe. She has played in various musical theatre shows including reed 1 in Tiger Bay (Wales Millennium Centre), Mack and Mabel (Hackney Empire) and Annie Get Your Gun (The Crucible Theatre). Mostly recently, she has been a deputy for the Miss Saigon UK Tour (WMC and Festival Theatre, Edinburgh) playing reed 3 - clarinet, alto saxophone and flute.
Alongside performing, Daisy is a keen music educator and is currently the Head of Woodwind at St John's on the Hill School, Chepstow. She is also the social media manager of the London Musical Theatre Orchestra.
